No questions asked. Truly. Before we left on our trip around the world in Nov 2005, Lee bought a pair of shoes from REI.
Two weeks later, he returned them because they just didn’t fit right and got Merrills instead. He loved them.
A week later we were in REI for last minute backpack items and waterproofing spray. A salesperson said, “You know, we have the waterproof version of those shoes now.” Cool, he traded for the waterproof Merrills.
Then we went on a year-long trip with those shoes.
This weekend he returned the waterproof version because the inside of the heel had begun to fall apart, and received a full refund for the 2005 price (minus the member dividend paid out.) They also had a 20% discount sale on one item, so the refund was enough for a new pair of Merrills and a pair of Exofficio underwear. Lee really loves that underwear.
